Easy Tile Calculator is a free, instant tool for homeowners, DIYers and contractors who are sick of guestimating how many tiles to buy. What started as a simple square-footage script is now a full estimating tool that handles floors, walls, showers, ceilings and backsplashes — and then goes further to estimate grout, adhesive, boxes and cost.
What we do
Most tile calculators stop at tile count. Ours treats a space the way a real installer would: it measures in feet, inches, metres or centimetres, converts everything to square feet or square metres, adds waste for layouts like diagonal and herringbone, and deducts windows and doors from wall areas automatically. Every number updates live as you type — there is never a "Calculate" button to press.
Why it's free
Estimating your tiling job shouldn't be locked behind a sign-up or a storefront pushing one brand of tile. This tool has no accounts, no pricing tiers and no product recommendations. You enter your measurements, get your numbers, and go. It stays free because it's useful, not because it sells you something.
Private by design
All the math happens in your browser. Your room sizes, tile choices and cost details never leave your device or get sent to a server. The only thing stored is your theme preference (light or dark) in your browser's local storage. There are no tracking cookies, no user accounts and no email sign-ups.

A note on accuracy
Our estimates are built from real-world formulas — including grout-line pitch, cutting waste, trowel coverage rates and grout density. They are designed to be accurate enough to order from, but tile jobs always have variables like wall flatness and unusual shapes. We always recommend adding a small buffer and confirming final quantities with your tile supplier.
